No single food can do it all, but it goes without saying some foods are healthier than others.

According to the Cleveland clinic super foods are not a nutritionally recognized category of foods so there is no specific criteria a food must meet to be considered one. But the title is typically reserved for natural foods that are especially nutrient-dense while generally being low on calories.

Super foods help promote health by increasing your immune function and decreasing your chance of disease prevention or progression.

Over all superfoods are associated with;

  • Heart health
  • A strong immune system
  • Cancer prevention
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Lower cholesterol.

I came up with a list of super foods that i believe should be added to your daily meals. in the future I will write about the importance of each one of them.

  • citrus fruits (limes, lemons, oranges, clementines)
  • Berries (straw berries, blue berries, raspberries)
  • Cherries
  • Tea (green & black)
  • ginger
  • garlic
  • tumeric
  • broth
  • red bell pepper
  • mushrooms
  • cruciferous vegetables ( broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage calliflour)
  • leafy greens (spinach, arugula, micro greens)
  • sweet potatoes
  • tomatoes
  • yoghurt
  • nuts
  • fatty fish
  • shell fish
  • poultry
  • beans

we shall be picking on each strong food every wee until we are done with the list. breaking down each strong food and telling you why you should be eating it.
